Planting & gardens

Planting plans, soil preparation, tree and shrub planting, borders and lawns established to grow into the design.

Scope

Planting is drawn as a plan, not chosen at the nursery gate. Structure first — trees, hedges, evergreen mass — then the seasonal layers that move through the year, then the ground cover that closes the soil.

Soil is prepared for what is going into it: decompaction, drainage, organic matter and the right planting pit rather than a bag of compost in a hole.

We set out expectations honestly about establishment. New planting takes seasons, not weeks, and the care given in the first years decides how the garden looks in its fifth.
